Abstract: The scope of work is for the provision of Subsea Power Cable Marine Technical Consultants (MTC) to support the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) installation activities related to the EGL1 HVDC cable project.EGL1 is a crucial part of the solution to achieve the Government's 2030 renewable energy target. The project is designed to significantly increase the UK's capacity to transport clean renewable energy to consumers by improving the capability and resilience of the electricity transmission network between Scotland and England. Once complete, EGL1 will deliver enough electricity for two million homes.The project consists of a 196km long high voltage direct current (HVDC) link, that includes 176km of subsea cables that will be installed from south of Thorntonloch beach, through Scottish and English waters to a landfall point just north of Seaham, in County Durham.The Project is the first contracted cable system in the UK to utilise 525 kV HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) technology with...
