Abstract: Eden District lies in eastern Cumbria and has an area of 2 156 km2, making it the largest non-unitary area in England and Wales. In 2011, the population of Eden was 52 564. The population is scattered throughout small villages across a wide rural area, with more than half the population living outside the four main towns of Penrith, Alston, Appleby and Kirkby Stephen.The client is seeking bids from service providers to provide the administration of its housing allocation and homelessness functions covering the following key areas:— administration of the EDC housing advice function, — administration of the EDC homelessness function, — management of the EDC housing register.The service is required to be delivered throughout the local authority area of Eden; including but not limited to, the market town of Penrith. It will be a requirement of the successful service provider to make available a minimum of six units of temporary accommodation within Penrith, covering all of the following property types:— 2 x 2 or 3 bedroom family houses, — 4 x 1 or 2 bed flats.At least one unit of temporary accommodation should be suitable for use by a person(s) with a physical disability.The outcome of the te...
