ECO Canada is seeking consultants to develop three digital learning courses that introduce learners to foundational and emerging themes in Canada's ocean sector. The goal is to support early-career professionals, interdisciplinary learners, and individuals transitioning into the ocean economy bybuilding awareness of the sector's structure, innovation landscape, and Indigenous-led stewardship practices. Ocean Industry Landscape in Canada This introductory course will provide a broad overview of Canada's ocean economy, including major sectors, geographic hubs, workforce trends, and futureopportunities. Content will highlight the diversity of marine industries such as fisheries, aquaculture, ocean technology, marine tourism, and offshore energy, with an emphasis on sustainability and innovation. Learning Objectives: Identify the key sectors and regions driving Canada's ocean economy, understand how the ocean sector contributes to employment and innovation, understand how Canada's ocean industry interacts with global ocean industry and trade. Blue Tech Entrepreneurship and Innovation This course will introduce learners to Canada's blue tech innovation ecosystem. It will explorethe entrepreneurial process from ideation through to prototyping and commercialization, with a focus on the unique challenges and opportunities facing marine innovators.
