Tender Details

E6 Taraldrud alum schist landfill
The pollution is due to the fact that, for a period from the 1980s to the 1990s, the area was used for filling with surplus materials consisting of of alum slate/black slate from several construction projects in central Oslo. Alum shale is a sulphide-bearing rock known to have an acid-forming potential when exposed to oxygen and water. The weathering processes result in reduced pH and leaching of heavy metals. The area for the action area is estimated approx. 22, 000 m2. In connection with clean-up measures at Taraldrud, the shale fill must be covered with a membrane and clay. In addition to covering, parts of Snipetjernbekken will be piped (approx. 165m), and the current catchment ponds will be re-established. Parts of the area must be relieved to ensure geotechnical stability, and it is planned that 1.5 meters of the top masses in these areas will be removed. Cut-off trenches must also be established to prevent water flow and further spread of pollution from the deposited shale masses. The planned digging depth for ditches along the road is approx. 1.2 meters and depth for cut-off ditches for the precipitation dam is approx. 0.7 meters.
