Description

This is a notice of intent, NOT a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will NOT be issued, and quotations will NOT be requested.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Data Sciences International Incorporation of Saint Paul, Minnesota 55112-3929.

The purpose of this acquisition is to procure a telemetry platform from DSI that monitors and records continuous physiologic data such as heart rate and blood pressure through implantable telemetry devices. The platform will provide monitoring during nonhuman primate models of infectious diseases that cause high rates of mortality in humans. Continuous and faithful monitoring of physiologic parameters over time is essential for deep characterization of disease progression. Critically, the implantable telemetry platform enables monitoring in sedated or awake animals. Physiologic parameters could alternatively be measured by inserting a device via percutaneous femoral arterial access, but this method requires continuous sedation and does not allow for measurement of physiologic parameters in awake animals.
