2. Definition of the requirement
PSPC is involved in document capture and digitization, form processing, OCR and barcode recognition, intelligent document recognition and categorization of unstructured documents. PSPC supports the Digital Canada 150 initiative, a 2013 plan to guide federal departments and agencies into the digital future. The mandate includes the digitization of government documents and support for Open Government and the Accessible Canada Act.
In order to meet an increasingly-complex growing demand in a timely and effective manner, PSPC has broadened its document imaging services to provide end-to-end managed services as a Common Service provider to federal government departments and agencies by establishing multi-vendor document imaging contracts.
