Laser-assisted machining (LAM) is required for optically processing surfaces in extremely hard materials such as worlfame carbide or infrared materials such as silicon and germanium on the 5-axis ultra-precision diamond milling machine from B-PHOT. Being able to process these materials is necessary to dto take the next step towards the development of a pilot line for glass optics. The LAM process very locally weakens the hardness of the material so that it can be processed with a diamond chisel to achieve optical quality. This tender includes the purchase of a LAM and accessories.
