Yle is looking for a production company to develop the new Uusi Päivä series. Schedule of the request for tenders: 13.4.-15.5.2026 Our goal is a branded product for many seasons, a favorite series that defines the end of the 2020s. We are looking for a concept that makes insightful observations about this from the lives of today's high school students and realize them in the form of a warm interpersonal story. The main characters are high school students at Virtaus high school. The story does not continue directly from New Day, but the warm spirit of the series remains. The rhythm, form and narrative are today. The series has a large fan community, which should be utilized in the development of the concept. The series aims for a broad audience profile. The main target group is 15-17-year-olds, but there can be levels of humor for older viewers as well. The world allows the surprising plot patterns and a long-lived story as the characters age. The preliminary format is 20 × 15 min. We are also open to other suggestions and encourage you to think about different, creative and cost-effective production methods. If this is reached, the series can have many production seasons. The final number of episodes, the duration of the episodes and the publication format of the concept will be developed in cooperation with the production company selected for further development.
