The County of Newell has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a qualified consultant to help implement a standardized digital records management system within its existing Microsoft 365 environment. While the project is technical in nature, the objective is straightforward: to ensure County records are organized consistently, retained appropriately, and accessible when needed — now and in the future. The County already has an approved records retention bylaw and classification framework in place. This project focuses on putting those policies into practice by configuring SharePoint Online and related tools to support defensible record-keeping, legislative compliance, and operational efficiency across all departments. Once complete, the system will support clearer information management, improved accountability, and better long-term preservation of municipal records.
