Description

This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. National Institute of Health (NIH)/National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Hesperos, Inc. 12501 Research Parkway, Suite 100 Orlando, FL 32826, to provide provide Development of a Patient Derived RYR-1 Myopathy Model to Identify Disease Related Functional Deficits.



The purpose of the procurement is for the vendor to develop a patient derived RYR-1 myopathy model using Hesperos- Human-on-a-Chip micro-physiological systems. The Skeletal Muscle (SkM) model for RYR-1 associated myopathies will be developed by utilizing NIH-NINR sourced patient myoblasts and resultant myotubes for further downstream functional evaluation utilizing a Hesperos single-organ system. Patient cells will be evaluated for muscle function compared to healthy (Hesperos Sourced - ND41865) iPSC myoblasts. Myoblasts will be plated on silicon cantilever arrays and allow to fuse into myotubes to obtain contractile force measurements to identify SkM dysfunction associated with the RYR-1 myopathy phenotype.

Scope Contractor will independently provide Development of a Patient Derived RYR-1 Myopathy Model to Identify Disease Related Functional Deficits.

The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements.
