Today, the Belgian guidelines for radiology are publicly available as plain text in a file on the website of the FPS Public Health. These guidelines are outdated and are not user-friendly. In the context of the Action Plan for e-Health 2019-2021, a user-friendly system for integrating up-to-date guidelines for radiology into the clinical workflow is needed.This requires a stand-alone application that searches in current, qualitative, evidence-based decision rules for the desired recommendations (according to a simple search) and then presents them to the prescribing physician, to support the latter in electronic prescriptions of radiological examinations, for both GPs and medical specialists. This stand-alone application is referred to below in this text as the PSSr platform (Prescription Search Support for radiology platform).
