The future fast boat is a collaboration between Vestland, Trøndelag and Nordland counties with the aim of developing, designing, building and testing new express boats with zero emissions. The project is supported by Klimasats.Concept development and a comprehensive design phase has previously been carried out, which shows that it is possible to develop energy efficient express boats of zero emissions. However, experience from previous project phases and dialogues with the market shows that the risks associated with the transition from design to construction are still too high. The contracting authority is therefore now preparing a competition for the detailed engineering design of the future express boat aimed at shipyards. The objective of this tender contest is to verify the design and performance of the vessel in order to demonstrate that the construction of the vessel is practically feasible, and to enable shipyards to participate in later competitions for the construction of vessels. The contracting authority will award a maximum of 6 contracts for the execution of the assignment. Each contract will include detailed engineering design services and verification of proposed project design of vessels based on two different existing routes.
