WSA intends to engage an engineering consultant to complete the detailed design of the new Cowan Lake Dam. The scope includes: Project management Site assessment and field data gathering (surveying, bathymetry, geotechnical exploration & drilling, etc.) Engineering & drafting Estimating Permitting support Procurement support Office- and field-based construction support and supervision and commissioning support is not in scope at this time but may be added to the scope of work once the detailed design is complete and construction timing is known.

WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the province’s water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing 72 dams and related supply channels.
