Request for proposals (RFP) are invited for Design, Supply & Install- ORIA Baggage Handling Systems.

Scope: The Cayman Islands Airports Authority ('the Authority') requests Proposals from Specialist Contractors for the Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of a new incoming baggage handling system as well as the part new and part refurbished outgoing baggage handling systems as part of the ORIA Terminal Renovation and Expansion Project. In addition the Specialist Contractor will be required to remove the existing baggage handling equipment and salvage and refurbish equipment scheduled for reinstallation. Removal of the existing baggage handling equipment cannot take place until the new equipment is functioning therefore careful coordination with airport operations and other contractors will be a key component. In summary the works comprise as follows: Outbound-the relocation and refurbishment of one existing make-up device of approximately 100 linear feet; procurement and installation of one new outbound make-up device of approximately 170 LFT, and all conveyors, controls, catwalks or other equipment as needed to allow for the successful operation of the outbound system; Inclusion of two new ticket counter and sortation subsystems totalling an estimated 545 linear feet of outbound conveyor. Inbound-subsystem will consist of five claim devices (three at 185 linear feet each, one at 165 linear feet and one at 150 linear feet) totaling approximately 870 linear feet of inbound claim devices including all fire/security doors and all mechanical, control, safety equipment and interfaces.

Evaluation: The criteria for evaluation and scoring of the responses will be included in the Request for Proposals document. Particular attention will be paid to prior relevant experience on similar projects including those carried out in existing airport terminal facilities which will remain fully operational throughout the construction period.

Review and Receipt of Prequalification Documents: Request for Proposals documents inclusive of drawings, performance specification and information concerning the existing baggage handling equipment will be issued during week commencing Monday, 15th February 2016 and there will be a four week bid period. This bidding procedure is carried out under the aegis of the Central Tenders Committee and completed proposals shall be delivered (in four hard copies) to the CTC at the treasury booths in the public lobby of the Government Administration Building, Elgin Avenue George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands in accordance with the instructions set out, and by the date stated, in the Request for Proposal documents.

Freedom of Information Law: The Request for Proposals process shall be subject to the Cayman Islands Freedom of Information Legislation.

Contracts: Any contracts entered into shall be governed by the Laws of the Cayman Islands.
