IFC is launching the Micro SME Lab, a cohort-based accelerator that builds the capability of financial institutions (FIs) across Latin America and the Caribbean to profitably serve micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) — with priority focus on underserved MSME sub-segments, including women-owned enterprises, silver-economy entrepreneurs (50+), forcibly displaced persons (FDP)-owned businesses, agribusinesses, and informal enterprises. Building on IFC's proven DigiLab methodology, the program combines a six-module applied-learning curriculum with mentoring, peer learning, and an optional real-world implementation pilot. These Terms of Reference invites qualified firms to compete for the design and delivery of the first cohort. Through a simplified competitive process, IFC seeks a specialized firm to finalize and deliver the curriculum, guide participating FIs to actionable MSME strategies and roadmaps, and support an optional pilot in selected branches. The engagement contributes to the World Bank Group's mission of jobs creation and to measurable growth in healthy MSME portfolios across the region.The key goals and objectives of the program are:· Holistic: Offer a comprehensive understanding of MSME finance and the capabilities FIs need to serve the segment profitably and at scale.· Impactful: Deliver to an interdisciplinary, senior FI team empowered to transmit learnings and instigate the necessary strategic and cultural change within their institutions.· Differentiated: Use a learn-by-doing approach — combined with the option to pilot a solution — that stands apart from conventional conferences, trainings, and workshops.· Iterative: Test and refine the offering through a pilot cohort so future cohorts benefit further FIs. These objectives are achieved through: a proven methodology; an actionable MSME transformation plan (roadmap) at the end of the program; networking with peer FIs and subject-matter experts; and real-life examples from comparable institutio...
