Description : Background

The World Health Organization, Solomon Islands (WHO SLB) provides technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) to implement the National TB and HIV/ STI programs in Solomon Islands. Under The Global Fund Grant 2018 2020, WHO SLB, as a Sub Recipient (SR) of The Global Fund TB/ HIV grant supports the Prime Recipient (PR) the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) with the procurement of goods and services.

WHO SLB is supporting the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) National TB Program to strengthen the management of Latent TB Infection in Solomon Islands. The purpose of this contract is to develop national guidelines on Latent TB Infection management, in line with WHO recommendations and other best practices in the region but contextualized to Solomon Islands.

Objectives



The consultant will work closely and in consultation with the National TB Program, MHMS and Partner Institutions, and Medical Officer (TB/HIV), WHO SLB to develop:

The guidelines, recording and reporting formats, and monitoring and evaluation framework and checklist for LTBI diagnosis and management.

All documents will be aligned to the WHO LTBI guidance and developed in consideration to local context.

The consultant will report to and work closely with and report to the Medical Officer (TB/ HIV).
