Tender Details

The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (Conservation Authority) is looking for eligible firms that would be interested in future Prequalification Requests for the Design and Construction Administration Services for Natural Heritage Projects. The Conservation Authority is issuing this Request For Pre-Qualified Vendors to determine which firms meet the minimum design and construction administration experience to be considered for Natural Heritage projects, pursuant to the Conservation Authority's Purchasing Policy.

The Natural Heritage System and Restoration Strategy and Ecological Offsetting Plan were developed to provide a consistent and innovative approach to natural heritage protection, enhancement, restoration, and creation through the watershed. Using a series of steps that support the principle of “no net loss”, the Conservation Authority implements an offsetting program based upon the principles of a mitigation hierarchy, with compensation as a last resort. The offsetting collected through cash-in-lieu and other funding sources will be used to protect, enhance, restore, and create natural heritage features in the watershed demonstrating a “net ecological gain” to the natural heritage system. The creation or restoration of features supports aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and general human wellness through an increase in ecosystem goods and services such as carbon sequestration, natural disturbance regulation, gas regulation, recreation, and water supply, among others.
