Description : The Hawaii State Department of Health (DOH) Office of Primary Care and Rural Health (OPCRH) seeks a CONTRACTOR to conduct public health workforce research on health care providers who are either a Dentist (DDS or DMD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (OD), or a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). The DDS, DMD, MD, DO, and CNM providers included in this study are currently licensed in the state and currently practice in Hawaii. The recruitment and retention workforce research results will support and guide the Office of Primary Care and Rural Health (OPCRH) efforts to increase access to healthcare. Hawaii-s shortage of DDSs, DMDs, MDs, DOs, and CNMs in multiple disciplines continues to grow across the state. Hawaii competes at a national level to recruit and retain licensed healthcare workers. Research findings will be reported to update the provider to population ratios in the Health Resources Service Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Health Workforce Shortage Designation Management System (SDMS). The goal of this project is to gather licensed healthcare workforce data for the 2025 National Shortage Designation Update (NSDU).
