the consultant will be required to deliver a training of trainers to a selected group of young men and women from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. this workshop will enable participants to pave the way for young change-makers by becoming coaches to new recruits of the program. their role will contribute to ensuring the sustainability and continuity of the five-year intervention while helping consolidate the meaningful and inclusive participation of youth.
duties:
design and develop a training curriculum on mentorship in collaboration with abaad;
ensure the learning materials are rooted and practicality founded on participatory active learning, discussions, case studies, demonstration sessions and group activities;
carry out 3 training sessions that will result in the following learning outcomes:
youth will develop the necessary leadership skills to provide guidance and structure to new recruit of the program;
youth will be equipped with the necessary tools to support in new members- induction into the program and operate as “advisors” to youth who will participate in this initiative;
youth will be acquainted with the fundamental tools of providing peer to peer support;
youth will learn how to mitigate challenges and enhance the group-s dynamics to ensure its homogeneity;
participants become equipped with the necessary skill set to act as liaison between the program management unit and the youth by relaying suggestions, concerns or recommendations of their peers to the project coordinator.
develop a reference document for the selected mentors which will outline their exact role, responsibilities and commitments vis-à-vis this position;
submit a final report detailing achievements, challenges, lessons learnt and main takeaways along with any notable success stories;
