The University of Debrecen's goal is to return the appearance worthy of the central building of the University, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2032, with a complete technical and aesthetic renovation of the Main Building facade.

The Main Building is under monument protection, whichthe National Monuments Inspectorate 8425/4/1987. (National Register of Monuments number: M 9663)

Facade elements affected by the renovation:

- facade surfaces (plaster-stone-artificial stone)

- facade doors and windows (in different condition)

- sidewalks directly connected to the building, floor coverings, level bridges, barriers, grids of mechanical elements.

Decomposition into stages:

I. phase: Eastern facade

II. phase: South facade

III. phase: Western facade

IV. phase: North facade

V. phase: Northern inner courtyard, Eastern air shaft, Western air shaft
