DESCRIPTION
The 95th is in need of an accurate de-icing simulator in order to maintain up to date training od deicing operations during the warmer half of the year. The De-icer trucks are turned into vehicle maintenance during the spring and summer months making it virtually impossible to stay proficient on the equipment. Additionally, training on live equipment is expensive and a waste POL resources. Once fielded, this vital asset will save the Air Force 1, 000 gallons of de-icing fluid annually and significantly reduce aircraft mishap risks by ensuring our technicians are fully certified on equipment controls before operating around live assets.
The customer requires an exact replica deicer simulator of their current operational deicer truck cabs. The current in use deicer trucks are Global Ground Support-s GL-1800 and G-2875ER. In order to procure replica models, this will be awarded on a sole source basis to Global Ground Support which is the only company that has a commercially available simulator that exactly replicates their deicer cabs.6910
