Background The National Autonomous University of Honduras, UNAH, created in 1847, is responsible for organizing, directing and developing higher education in Honduras, in accordance with article 160 of the Constitution of the Republic. It currently has a teaching staff of around 3, 600 teachers, serves more than eighty thousand students, with an offer of more than one hundred courses at the undergraduate and graduate level that are offered in person, remotely and virtually. In 2008, UNAH created the Directorate of Educational Innovation (DIE), a unit academic that in its strategic plan establishes the lines of action for the construction and implementation of the educational innovation model and the design of institutional policies aimed at generating the capabilities in the university community to do that, at UNAH, innovation and creativity find their natural stay.
