Tender Details

Training is sought on the themes of decolonizing, bias, and awareness of how settler experience shapes the capacity of a person to be ready for reconciliation. This training will take place within the context of a larger staff development program, “The Collaborative Leadership Program” (CLP).

The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship, in collaboration with the Ministry of Forests and the Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, have launched the CLP for North Area regional operations staff that are involved in complex, natural resource management work. The CLP specializes in building effective external engagement skills, negotiating and resolving conflict on the land base, establishing effective governance of land and natural resources with Indigenous government partners, and leading collaboratively.

Exploring and challenging bias, power and the role of colonization is a pre-requisite to the unit on ‘effective governance with Indigenous partners. WLRS is requesting a proposal to deliver training that leads staff through reflection and reflexivity on colonization to be more aware of their own bias, be more empathetic, and more prepared to engage in the difficult work of reconciliation and right relationship.
