In accordance with (IAW) the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) § 1910, Army Regulation (AR) 40-501, National Guard Regulation (NGR) 40-5, AR 40-5, and Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 6055.05-M, employees must be monitored for the impacts of workplace exposures. The medical surveillance program is a
risk-based medical screening and examination process intended to improve combat readiness through early recognition and prevention of occupational exposure by identifying workplace hazards and directing measures to prevent associated illnesses and injuries. Program requirements vary based on job code, work performed, and worksite exposures identified by industrial hygiene (IH) surveys.
