Cumberland has a rural geography and building on the natural strengths of our local communities our ambition is to promote the development of local care solutions to meet local needs. Cumberland Council wishes to commission a provider to deliver the Cumberland support/prevention Microenterprise Service from 2nd August 2025 sustaining the 44 existing care micro-enterprises established in Cumberland and supporting the development of new care and prevention microenterprises. To provide small scale, flexible, responsive, high quality local care services to sit alongside Cumberland existing Commissioned Adult Care Services (Homecare, Extra Care, Supported Living & Day Opportunities.) To provide Cumberland customers with choice and control over their own care. The role of the Supplier is to facilitate and support the development of local innovation and development, bringing knowledge and expertise in the field of micro-enterprise development and prevention services. The council proposes to enter into the contract for an initial period of 12 months with the successful tenderer. There are 2 optional extensions for up to 12 months each. These optional extensions are at the absolute discretion of the council. If the contract runs for the initial period only it will end on 01/08/2026. ...
