The project includes the removal of the existing 12.8' wide by 8.3' high corrugated metal arch culvert, stone masonry headwalls, concrete apron, overlay, and abutments, and the installation of a 34' L x 20' W prestressed precast concrete deck beam bridge placed on precast concrete pedestal abutments with precast concrete wingwalls. The project will include the installation of 68 LF of bridge guardrail and 100 LF of approach guardrail. Abutments will be installed on top of poured-in-place concrete leveling pads doweled to bedrock. Work will include placement of leveling pads, abutments, and wingwalls, placement of channel bed material to create a new bankfull channel beneath the bridge, placement of bank rock to create wildlife benches and protect sub-structures, and all associated road, bank, river and erosion control work. Flow bypass will be achieved with a pump providing bypass flow around the project area and discharging downstream of the work, such that the majority of culvert work will be performed during low to no flow.
