Description :Qutech at TU Delft has purchased a Cryogen-free dilution refrigerator for the Quantum Inspire-project that allows for continuous, uninterrupted operation at base temperature for 1.5 years, without the requirement for any liquid cryogenics (helium or nitrogen).After internal consultationand market research by the researchers, Qutech has identified the Bluefors model XLD-SL dilution fridge as the only instrument that features all of the specific requirements. The model XLD-SL dilution fridge is modular, future-proof and allows to host devices with increasing complexity, with the optionto fit 1000 coaxial cables with high density. On base of the continuity of the hardware, it is also required to purchase a dilution refrigerator that is compatible with the current working Quantum computing prototypes (SiSpin and Transmon). In the Quantum Inspire program, XLD-400 fridges from Blueforsare used. At this moment, the only system that fits in the same experiment and setup is XLD-SL sideloading system from BlueFors.
