Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY for “Crane Operator Services at the Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project, North Pole, Alaska.” OFFERS OR PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS NOTICE.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Provide properly certified crane operators and riggers/signalmen for on-call work at the Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project located approximately 18 miles east of Fairbanks, Alaska near the town of North Pole. The crane operators and riggers/signalmen shall operate a Government provided 90-ton P&H crane or a Liebherr HS8130 for as needed callouts requiring crane services. Crane services include baling operations at the Moose Creek Dam control works. Baling operations are necessary to ensure the face of the Moose Creek Dam and regulating gates are clear of debris. Baling operations typically follow high water events which usually occur during the months of May to September. Debris is removed with a clamshell bucket or orange-peel grapple.
Typical baling operations are 3-4 days in duration but may be more or less depending on the magnitude of the high water event. Work may be required 24-hours per day in two 12-hour shifts. The crane operators and riggers/signalman shall not work more than 12 hours in any 24 hour period including time worked at other locations.
The contract will be a time and materials type contract with a contract period of one base year and two option years. A not-to-exceed amount of $50, 000 is anticipated to be established for each contract year.
Estimated award date is March 2023.
The Contractor is to furnish all management, labor, equipment, travel, supplies, materials and other items necessary to accomplish the work. All contractor personnel shall be properly trained and certified for their position by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) or equivalent.
