Corsica has two thermal power stations for the production of electricity: - a power station located in Lucciana and operating on light fuel oil; - a power station located in Ajaccio and operating on heavy fuel oil. Natural gas supply to thermal power plants to replace itFuel oil is a challenge in terms of improving air quality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This procedure concerns the selection of an operator for the construction and operation of a natural gas supply infrastructure for power plantsof electricity production located in Corsica. The fact that a candidate is retained does not in any way prejudge the outcome of the administrative procedures which it is their responsibility to conduct, in particular those intended to obtain the setting by the Energy Regulatory Commission of the framework for rregulation of the Infrastructure and the level of the user tariff, and those intended to obtain all the administrative authorizations necessary for the establishment of the Infrastructure, in particular those relating to the preservation of the environment and the prevention of risks.
