In response to this need, the Humboldt II Project designed previously a comprehensive training program in food safety, food safety and responsible fishing with a focus on adding value to artisanal fishing. This process included a participatory diagnosis of gaps and needs of training, the definition of training objectives, the design of content and technical modules, as well as the formulation of a theoretical-practical methodology and guidelines for its implementation in the territory. The program was designed in conjunction with the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE), the National Authority for Fisheries and Aquaculture Health and Safety (SANIPES) and the National Fisheries Development Fund (FONDEPES), in order to ensure its regulatory coherence, technical relevance and alignment with the institutional powers of the sector.
