The new control system to be provided by the contractor shall enable the navigation lock to be operated by the public with a smart card to interface with the system. The new lock control process shall then be initiated and monitored by people who do not know the technology of the equipment and may have limited understanding of the overall lock system. Heretofore all the monitoring functions that were done by the lock keeper now these must be foreseen in the control system. This requires additional sensors and also additional automated control functions. The overall lock machinery and new control system integration shall conform to be a ce marked structure and shall fulfil all the required safety criteria. Documents
