Scope of Work/Overview: Demolition of existing natural gas piping serving the boiler room, domestic hot water heater, concealed riser, and rooftop unit, including associated fittings, valves, supports, and accessories. Isolation, purging, disconnection, removal, and capping of existing natural gas piping downstream of the exterior gas regulator and existing basement gas meter as required. Protection of existing gas meter and exterior gas regulator, which are to remain. Installation of new natural gas piping from the exterior regulator to the existing basement gas meter. Installation of new common gas distribution piping downstream of the gas meter. Installation of new interior exposed gas riser from basement through ground and second floors to the roof, routed as indicated on drawings. Installation of new rooftop gas piping from the roof penetration to RTU-1, including final equipment connection. Install new natural gas piping in parallel with the existing system where practicable. Coordinate shutdowns and final tie-ins during weekends or Owner-approved off-hours to minimize disruption to building occupants and services. Work affecting the domestic water heater shall be completed during weekends or Ownerapproved off-hours. Following restoration of the natural gas supply, recommission the domestic water heater and affected domestic hot-water system under the supervision of the Owner's base-building water-treatment contractor.
