Virological Reference Laboratory for Influenza in Austria

Diagnostic and nationwide virological-epidemiological surveillance of influenza viruses in Austria, including the detection of new ensured human influenza viruses with pandemic potential. In addition, monitoring and analysisof influenza viruses with regard to the occurrence of neuraminidase-resistant influenza strains and the genetic characterization of complex drift variants and emerging subtypes.
