Ekeroe municipality intends to procure consulting services within community planning mainly for the planning unit.

Background

Ekeroe Municipality is a municipality in Stockholm County, which consists of one hundred and forty (140) islands and coves. Among the municipality's rich cultural environment are the world heritage sites Birka/Hovgarden and Drottningholm. The municipality is in an expansive phase with growth and immigration. In the coming years, a developed infrastructure will provide new opportunities, with the construction of the Stockholm Bypass and the widening of Ekeroevaegen/road 261, which will change the role of Ekeroe municipality in the regional context.

The transformation means that in the not-too-distant future the municipality will go from being a distinctly rural municipality to our vision of a small town with a vibrant countryside. This transformation must take place in such a way that neither natural, cultural, environmental values nor future development are endangered.
