Objective and Purpose of the Assignment 1. The scope for the technical assistance (TA) consultancy will cover wide aspects on inherited, continuously generated and improperly disposed hazardous waste (HW) management improvement in Armenia through addressing gaps and recommending amendments in legal and institutional frameworks; proposing necessary improvements of capacity for quality data generation and accuracy of reporting and analysis; developing technical specifications and when relevant/agreed drafting the terms of reference (TOR) for hazardous waste treatment technology units to be installed in Armenia; designing courses and materials, as well as conducting sessions for knowledge and awareness capacity building, that will boost and act as a driver and ensure more effective participation in the implementation of above listed improvement measures. Recommendations of workable mechanisms for involvement of women and youth, as well as leveraging privately run entities as important role- players in the HW management framework will be an important driver for change.
