BACKGROUND The standardization work initiated by the Ministry of Land and Forestry aims to facilitate and enhance the transfer of information between operators in the forestry sector. Standardization is implemented under the leadership of the Finnish Forestry Center on a broad basis between forest organizations in cooperation. In the standardization work, XML, geoJson, Json and GeoPackage message definitions based on the naming convention of the JHS recommendation are produced for use by forestry operators. The development of new standards is carried out as a collaboration between organizations and by a separate Preparation Working Group with varying composition. Cooperation mainly takes place in online meetings. The central role in the standardization work is played by the Preparatory Working Group, whose composition changes according to the topic, and which is led by works by Eetu Möhänen from the Finnish Forestry Center. The procurement is carried out as a national procurement with an open procedure. Candidates who meet the set minimum requirements can make an offer.2.
