Description : The executive committee of the local council has approved the establishment of a park at Bakklandstorget, the upgrade of Bakklandstorget, upgrade of Øvre Bakklandet and Nedre Bakklandet from Lillegårdsbakken to Nygata, and HC parking and official car parking at Øvre Bakklandet 52.
Asplan Viak has previously prepared a draft project that will form the basis for the assignment. The draft project is politically anchored and there is little room for changes. This assignment consists of the further development of the existing draft project for the street design in Øvre Bakklandet and Nedre Bakklandet from Lillegårdsbakken to Nygata, the establishment of HC parking, bicycle parking and official car parking at Øvre Bakklandet 52, and the remaining area of Bakklandstorget. It is vital that the street is designed to prioritise pedestrians and cyclists, and that Bakklandstorget is experienced as a uniform and universally designed urban area.
