Scope of partnership
The Cambodian government has collaborated with CAPRED in the energy sector, via a partnership with the
Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), the Electricity Authority of Cambodian (EAC), and the Electricite Du
Cambodge (EDC). All are working collectively to strengthen the technical capacity on four important workstreams
below:
Description
1. Improving the capacity of conducting a solar farm feasibility study
2. Advancing the capability in weather forecasting
3. Improving the Capability and Confidence in Implementing the "Principles for Permitting the Use of Rooftop
Solar Power in Cambodia"
4. Connecting Cambodian Ministerial and State-Owned Enterprise Members in the Energy Sector to the
Government, Business Agencies, and Academics in Australia.
The expected outcome is an increase in the technical capacity of government agencies in managing renewable
energy and thus increasing the capacity to absorb more renewable energy. This will increase climate
mitigation and contribute to Cambodia-s sustainable economic growth and social inclusion.
