Request for proposals are invited for Consultancy Services to Protection of Wadi Mujib Dam (in Jordan) through Labor-Intensive (Cash for Work) Activities.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to receive proposals for consultancy services to undertake a project that will utilize Manual Labor to clean, prepare, and fence land for irrigation and planting of 100, 000 (tree) seedlings (in the Karak governorate of Jordan) around the Wadi Mujib dam which is located in the Madaba governorate of Jordan. This afforestation will protect the dam from increased soil which has built up due to high sedimentation conditions.
This tender document is not an agreement and neither is it an offer to any party other than an invitation to submit proposal by qualified, consultancy firms, companies or institutions.
This RFP does not commit DRC to award a contract or pay any costs incurred in the preparation or submission of Bids, or costs incurred in making necessary studies for the preparation thereof, or to procure or contract for services or goods. Any bid submitted will be regarded as an offer made by the Bidder and not as an acceptance by the Bidder of an offer made by DRC. No contractual relationship will exist except pursuant to a written contract document signed by a duly authorized official of DRC and the successful Bidder.
The overall objectives of the Project are to:

1) Provide Cash-for-Work job opportunities for underprivileged Jordanians and Syrian refugees living in the vicinity of the project area through

2) Soil conservation and afforestation measures in a defined area within the watershed of the Wadi Mujib dam.
The political partner of the program from the side of the Jordanian authorities is the Jordan Valley Authority (JVA). The area of the Project is owned by the Forestry Department (FD) of the Ministry of Agriculture. Whereas the JVA is an important steering partner of the program, the FD will be closely incorporated in the technical execution of the Project.
