Tenders are invited for Consultancy National Climate Change Adaptation Specialist Tarawa, Kiribati.
The overall scope of the IOM Development Fund Project “Strengthening NGOs to Promote Climate Change Adaptation and Displacement Prevention Measures across Micronesia” is to increase the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) to implement Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) related projects in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) and Kiribati while strengthening partnerships between all relevant actors.
Towards this objective, IOM will organize capacity-building workshops for CSOs and NGOs and award a Small Grants Award for eight eligible NGOs across the three countries. The grants will consist of stand-alone climate action projects that promote climate resilience to address the impacts of climate change on migration decisions for communities and individuals. Following the successful implementation of the Awards, IOM will organize a networking event for NGOs / CSOs to showcase their capacity to their respective partners and the UN Multi Country Office (MCO). The consultant will work directly for the project manager and coordinate with the consultant currently based in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) to implement project activities.
The consultant will be engaged full time under the “Strengthening NGOs to Promote Climate Change Adaptation and Displacement Prevention Measures across Micronesia” project. The project will contribute to IOM Micronesia-s overall resilience-building activities at the community level. All activities will be in line with the programmatic priorities of The Office of the President (Kiribati).
