Tenders are invited for Consultancy: Human Resources/Capacity Building, Division of Human Resources, NYHQ.

In an effort to improve UNICEF's ability to deliver better results for children, the Division of Human Resources (DHR) has embarked on a transformational process in a number of key areas and launched Reforms. To effectively support the roll out of Human Resources Reforms in emergency contexts, DHR will strengthen capacity and knowledge management initiatives for the HR in Emergencies community.
UNICEF is looking for a consultant who will support these efforts. The consultancy will offer the opportunity to partner with and support the HR community in the delivery of strategic initiatives and solutions for staff working in the field in emergency contexts. The consultancy will also provide exposure to learn about UNICEF-s mission, its various programs and how it operates globally.
How can you make a difference?
The consultant will be responsible for capturing the different Human Resources processes throughout the employee-life cycle (ELC) in emergency contexts to support capacity building of the HR community.
The consultant will develop tools and templates that will constitute a user-friendly toolkit, available to the HR community and will guide them throughout the ELC. This will include:
Defining the contents of the toolkit

Map out all processes throughout the ELC

Draft the content of the toolkit for easy access and use

Develop templates and tools to facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building

Identify good practices of HR in Emergencies by drawing on lessons learned from strategic reviews and evaluations, experiences captured by HR staff in Emergencies

Benchmark good practices from other entities

Ensure availability and accessibility of the toolkit to all HR Practitioners

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
University degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Law, International Relations or related areas.

At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources Management (ELC)

Experience in learning and development design is a strong asset

Strong understanding of knowledge management and information sharing

Experience in building capacity of others is an asset

Excellent drafting skills and ability to efficiently capture and present information

Experience in emergency context is an asset

Previous experience with UNICEF is an asset

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Knowledge of sharing platform (ECM, SharePoint) is an asset

Fluency in English. Fluency in Spanish and/or French is an asset.

With the exception of the US Citizens, G4 Visa and Green Card holders, should the selected candidate and his/her household members reside in the United States under a different visa, the consultant and his/her household members are required to change their visa status to G4, and the consultant-s household members (spouse) will require an Employment Authorization Card (EAD) to be able to work, even if he/she was authorized to work under the visa held prior to switching to G4.
At the time the contract is awarded, the selected candidate must have in place current health insurance coverage.
