Orkland Sixth Form College: The former Meldal sixth form college and Orkdal sixth form college were merged into a joint unit named Orkland Sixth Form College. The school is currently located in two school places with different traditions. The school place at Follo is a former national gymnasium with traditions with emphasis on preparatory education. The school place Løkken has traditionally provided vocational training. Youth in the Orkland area have therefore divided between the two school places based on their education wishes. Concept development for Orkland sixth form college shall provide the school with frameworks and options for the construction of a new school culture with physical collection of the school places, with new and old programme subjects in an overall follo facility. It is important that pupils and employees interact in a natural way in the new school facility, so that it enables the construction of a new school culture. Orkland Sixth Form College was established as a national high school in 1923. The current buildings consist of several buildings from several development stages, which together make up a yard. Two of the buildings in the yard are not used for teaching, this applies to the oldest building from 1695 and a storehouse from 1850. The teaching buildings consist of several construction stages, and the last one was completed in 2016. The existing buildings are mostly in good condition.
