Discription: Description BACKGROUND Viral hepatitis is an emerging public health problem in Vanuatu. A 2019 WHO joint review on the situation of viral hepatitis response found high adult prevalence of hepatitis B. Hospital testing data showed a high adult prevalence (7-20%) of hepatitis B in Vanuatu: observed in antenatal women (7-11%) and blood donors (9-17%) with a large cohort of adults also potentially susceptible to infection.
