Over the past five years, VITO has built up considerable expertise in the field of design methods for heat exchangers (HEX). The current ambition is to validate these methods through specific hardware experiments and prototype tests, with as aim to quantify and demonstrate the benefits of the new design approaches and optimized HEX geometries. This validation is an essential condition for its industrial application. To achieve these objectives, a test setup for air-water heat exchangers are being developed. This facility will integrate the existing water supply infrastructure of the Energyville thermotechnical laboratory (TTL) in Genk with a newly developed, adjustable air duct. The realization of such a state-of-the-art lab infrastructure for HEX testing will also support the development of new research lines, such as high-temperature heat pump technologies and multi-physics design methods. Because of this Therefore, the design of the new air supply line must provide sufficient flexibility to allow for future adjustments, including the integration of additional fluid circuits or applications under a wider range of conditions. VITO is finished look for an external partner for the detailed design and realization of this air duct. This document outlines a preliminary work description in this regard. The main components of the air duct...
