PURPOSE OF THE RFP Facilitate and acquire required permits for construction of the pilot medical waste zone project using the waste zone design (to be provided). Construction will include building two designated 40-70m2 emergency medical waste area at two pilot health facilities in Central and Gulf Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). This will include development of standard operating procedures and training of health workers and In consultation with the respective Provincial Health Authority (PHA), National Department of Health (NDoH) and WHO, the contractor will deliver basic maintenance training and health facility and standards staff induction. Also, developing standard operating procedures for waste area use and environmental cleaning BACKGROUNDSound management of healthcare waste is essential to achieving environmentally sustainable health care facility (HCFs).
