Tenders are invited for Construction of a New Taxi Staging Area.
Athens International Airport S.A. (hereinafter called “AIA”) in compliance

with the Airport Development Agreement as ratified by Law 2338/1995

(Government Gazette A-202/14.09.95), as amended and ratified by virtue

of Law 4594/2019 (Government Gazette Α΄29/19.02.19), is inviting

companies, group of companies or consortia/ joint ventures with proven

experience in infrastructure projects pertaining to civil and

electromechanical works to express their interest for the implementation

of the Project “SR 6690.2 -Construction of a new taxi staging

area” at Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos".

The overall scope includes all required works for the full, complete, faultless

and ready-to-use implementation of the construction of a new taxi staging

area.

Athens International Airport S.A. (AIA) wishes to proceed to the creation

of an enlarged and consolidated holding facility which shall accommodate

the existing facilities of both main and overflow taxi staging areas, aiming

to decongest curb side operation, alleviate traffic circulation and free up

valuable parking area in close to the terminal.

The project, intends to increase by approximately 75% the current capacity

of spaces provided at the main taxi and P3 taxi overflow, provide a staging

area of pre-booked taxis that are now using the arrivals curb, and alleviate

the taxi circulation flow at the currently congested departures outer curb

(up to 3, 000 taxis/day or approx. 25% of the total peak traffic volume are

currently reaching the main taxi staging area through this link).

In view of the above, the project, examined on the basis of a detailed

design study, combines the creation of a new taxi staging area along with

an associated F&B building within a land lot of 18, 000m2 as follows:

• The area, separated into the primary staging area for taxis

(12, 190m2) and a secondary area for holding pre-booked taxis

(2, 810m2), will be accessed via a new roundabout on the airport

retail park service road. Construction works shall include extensive

earthworks, pavement works and utilities infrastructure as well as

a new taxi dispatch management system.

• Construction of an F&B facility of approx. 450m2 at the south-east

side of the lot to facilitate taxi users by providing indoor and

outdoor seating areas and appropriate toilet facilities.
