Construction of a cycleway bridge extension to Wairoa River Bridge, State Highway 2, Tauranga.

Tenders are invited for the construction of a 'clip on' cycleway extension to the SH2 Wairoa River Bridge. The cycleway is part of the Omokoroa to Tauranga cycle track and will be a dual purpose pedestrian and cyclist access way, separate from the main vehicle traffic.

The scope of this project is to:

To construct a clip on dual purpose cycleway/walkway. This will involve the contractor to:

~ Supply and install the steelworks for the cycleway extension

~ Design, supply, and install the Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) spans for one side of the bridge with a counterweight on the other

~ Coordinate the installation of the steelwork and FRP.

To create a safe passage for cyclists and pedestrians over the river away from the bridge's vehicular traffic

Construct landings on each side of the Wairoa River for the cycleway, including piling and paving.
