6. Description of the contract
The Works Contract shall consist of two Works Sections and as such they shall include the following:
Works Section 1: Construction of Bismil Wastewater Treatment Plant:
The main works to be carried out are as follows:
- Design and build of approximately 12, 500 m3/d average flow rate capacity wastewater treatment plant with activated sludge process for nitrogen and phosphorus removal. Sludge stabilization shall be accomplished within the activated sludge tanks.
- Demolishing of the existing treatment plant units
- Design and build of approximately 100 m, 1000 mm diameter reinforced concrete collector
- Testing and commissioning
- Training of the municipality staff on the operation of the WWTP
- 12 months supervision of operation after Taking Over (Defects Notification Period)
Works Section 2: Construction of Wastewater Collection:
The works contract mainly comprises such wastewater collection works under Works Section 2:
- Construction of approximately 25 km of wastewater collectors, approximately 500 manholes and 470 parcels manholes
- Testing and commissioning
- 12 months supervision of operation after Taking Over (Defects Notification Period)
Works Contract will be implemented under FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design-Build (Yellow Book, 1999 edition).
