Construction and technical infrastructure at Åremma Søndre Helgeland Miljøverk IKS (SHMIL) is an inter-municipal company owned by 11 municipalities on Helgeland in Nordland: Vefsn, Grane, Hattfjelldal, Brønnøy, Sømna, Vevelstad, Vega, Dønna, Herøy, Alstahaug and Leirfjord. The company collects and processes waste from households and business. SHMIL will establish a new technical infrastructure with associated buildings at Åremma. The project will facilitate efficient, safe and environmentally sound treatment of waste, and ensure the necessary capacity for future needs. The project will support SHMIL's core business and contribute to a more rational operation, while also taking climate, environment and flexibility for future changes into account.
