Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been tasked to solicit and award a construction contract for an Air Traffic Control Tower at AF Plant 42, air Force Test Center, Palmdale, CA. The basic scope for the ATCT includes but is not limited to a 160' tower with: drilled shaft foundations, floor slabs, buckling-restrained brace frames, fire protection and detection, emergency power, Furniture Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) for office spaces, FAA control cab with Slat-Wall Consoles, elevator, access control systems, HVAC, plumbing, parking lots, access driveways, fencing, and other supporting building systems and exterior infrastructure. The existing 93' ATCT will also be demolished at the end of construction after commissioning of the new tower. The construction of the ATCT will meet the latest code criterion including United Facility Criteria (UFC), ASCE 7, and other professional standards.
